Safe and Just Michigan (formerly Citizens Alliance on Prisons and Public Spending)

Safe and Just Michigan works on many issues related to reducing incarceration, including advocating for improved mental health services, and improving re-entry of formerly incarcerated people

 

Problem Solving Courts

Mental Health Courts, Veteran Courts, and Sobriety Courts have been studied as a way of diverting people from jail. The Michigan Supreme Court released an evaluation of these courts for FY 2017-18:
